Ford chapter 4

Ford

1500"s BC
North America Southern Sidhe Acadiana mound

He couldn’t stop himself from looking at her whenever he could ever since she had brought chaos to the dining hall.  His body buzzed while the tiny fairies attempted to tame her long thick hair that hung down to the middle of her waist the color of an aged pearl.  It's mass framed a delicate face with oak colored brows and thick pale lips.  He instantly adored the way she looked at the crowd embarrassed but still a proud royal.  The enormous hall aglow for the festival and the hundred light hearted and laughing people could not distract him from this insane need of her.  He felt like he was fighting to stand in a powerful river and not fall and be pulled to her.   He was watching when she jerked alert and started looking around like she was searching for someone and they locked eyes. The fight was over his feet where swept out from under him  and he was drowning.
“So tell me all about your quest Ford?”  “Ford?” Sansa yelled retrieving me from my encompassing feeling.  This sister was young but she was not lacking in confidence and attempted charisma.  She drew attention to her best features by twisting her vivid red hair next to her ear and blinking her short lashes that framed  amazing golden eyes bright with flirtation.   Of course the rumors had spread throughout the mounds on the continent that King Hammil had the most dazzling daughters, all daughters the poor man. His Queen had been true magic in the land of Eire and she may not be a Goddess here but they had created unique creatures . “O Sensa I wouldn’t exactly call it a quest” .  My cousin Bran said trying to gracefully extract her full attention from me.  “We are simply exploring more of our splendid country, enjoying a bit of freedom before the burden of  family responsibility finds its full weight on Ford's shoulders.  Perhaps you should make us a quest Sensa, it would make for a much better story?”  “Bran I don’t trust this little one, we may parish before it was over if we left on one of her adventures” I said.  “Little one?”  Sensa caressed her exaggerated curves hands resting on full hips. “I am fourteen and we are already allowed to get married.  Don’t try to dismiss me because of my age.  I see you are captured by my sister Marron . So entranced you have yet to notice that tall drink next to my father is her intended.  Cullen and Marron will finally be married and out of this mound next month.  He holds her dearer than his own being, been stalking her since he could walk.  If Marron had other suitors I don’t think Cullen even gave them a chance to enter the mound."  His hand that had raised a large glass to his lips spasmed from Sensa's proclamation.  Before he could get it to his lips it fell and splashed red wine all over the table  'Impossible" .  He jumped up from the table as fairies rushed on the mess but he couldn't stay here. He felt panicked and sick from this news. He looked up at Marron she was talking to her sister and hadn't even noticed but she still she took his breath away. He briskly left the hall.  Bran stopped him as a he climbed out of the mound onto a lookout stand that wound high in a thick Cyprus tree.  Bran's yelling to stop had disturbed a flock of Ibises and their giant white wings rose into the night sky like ghosts escaping the swamps.  "I have been tricked by that southern juju they warned us about Bran.  I saw her and she is my everything.  Could one look posses someone?  Surely not It has never happened before.  They must have slipped something into my drink.  Marron, Marron what have you done to me?"  Bran laughed, "you are crazy she is pretty but taken. You heard Sensa the guy has guarded her his entire life.  Go for Auden she looks entertaining! If you don't want one I do, Bran huffed."  "I know I can't help it she has dulled me to everything else if I can't see her, talk to her, I think I might be done for."  "Well there you go, I'm sure you will get a chance to talk to her and she will be nothing more than a unique looking girl." Ford just shook his head  "But you have heard our tales they say that each one of us was created by the God's then torn apart making one man one women.  Then they tossed us to earth and entertain themselves watching us try to find each other again.  Bran she is my other half. I know it."

Sisters chapter 3

Sisters
1500"s BC
North America Southern Sidhe Acadiana mound
The giant wooden doors that were the main entrance to the hall slammed open then from the force bounced back on their hinges from my sisters shoving them.  “You always make me late!”  “Me, I’m so sorry I couldn’t find yooour skirt!”  The two girls froze realizing that the hall was full of people and everyone was watching them.   Instantly they put on their best please the crowd smiles.  Mother laughed uncomfortably stood and announced. Please welcome Princess Auden and Princess Sansa."  The girls beamed and bowed deeply and with grace as the crowd had to again rise mid meal and bend.  Instead of coming up and taking there place next to me they paraded around the tables chatting with friends.  You could see Auden's wavy chocolate brown head bouncing around busy as a bee pollinating flowers.  “Father we have guests tonight?”  Auden loudly questioned the dais as she approached her families table.  Marron saw Sansa perk up from about three tables away to locate the visitors.  The fearless predator fluffed her chunky short tomato red tresses and skipped over to the strangers.  Immediately squeezing  her curves in between the two new men. Father Hammil spoke up. His voice strong and confident. “These men are from the East Seaboard mound they have asked for a short reprieve on their journey to the red rocks.  Prince Ford Vander has chosen that area to start a new colony and his cousin Prince Bran has accompanied him.   You would know this if any of my daughters had a sense of being on time." The whole crowd chuckled and I was the only one with guilt to blush.  "I promised them food and with three daughters in house some entertainment I'm sure, but maybe not the relaxation they were looking for!"  Sansa's seductive tainted laugh filled the room.  "Father what luck that I was just instructed on the entertainment of men but have lacked practice partners" .  A few in the crowd actually gasped at the immodesty.  “I think these two would do just fine” said the spider to the luscious fly’s Sansa had decided to capture.  Blue eyes cast another small glance my way before Sansa demanded his full attention.

“Those men are giving me a taste for sweets tonight M, could just serve them up! Auden winked at me, her dark grey eyes sparkled with pleasure.  "What sexy distractions from our tedium, I'm sure they're single?" She said as she had to slowly take her seat next to me. Fairies grabbed and twisted her floor length hair into a beautiful knot so it wouldn't  drag on the ground when she sat down.  She dismissed the orchard in front of her and asked for chocolate's  and pastries instead.  Auden could eat as much as the three of them combined should, but remained stick thin. Sansa was the only one you could call voluptuous.  My father always joked she was some sneaky Gods child.  Auden reached across me and twined her fingers with mothers.  "Mother you have outdone yourself tonight the hall is enchanting".  I don't care what those Grain's say the south cannot be outdone!"  Queen Vawn glared at her daughter and chucked her hand away before giggling.  Our Aunt Etain ran the Golden Grain mound and had a friendly competition with our mother on who could outdo the other. Spies where involved and halls were locked down for weeks before the reveal for the festivals.  Mother had paid her respects in a quick visit this afternoon and had been ranting all day about how Etain had drug her around gloating about the gold that dusted everything!  Auden was the closest to our mother and loved to tease her.
It was the wrong place but Marron decided to confide in her sister about the draw she felt earlier to Prince Ford and of course Auden wanted to hear it all.

Marron chapter 2

Marron
1500"s BC
North America Southern Sidhe Acadiana mound-

Marron's little feet slapped against the shiny stones echoing through the mounds empty wide halls, so late! Why couldn’t she be like her sister Auden she would just arrive whenever, her hypnotizing smile erasing any negativity of being tardy.  It was in Marron's nature to be on time for things and her father would be disappointed.  Her mind produced all the faces of father being upset with her and she ran just a bit faster.  Marron barreled up to the side entrance doors and they flew open before she could collect herself.  Sometimes magic wasn't so handy.  She skidded to a halt hair and dress flying.  She must have looked like a banshee flying in to attack the crowd!  Everyone stopped speaking around the dining hall and gawked.  Whispers and grumbles started  in a hush that you  know can only be about you. Seventeen years of her life Marron had gathered for festivals with them.  They had fled here with her family after the battle with the Milesian's in Eire.  Most had watched her grow up with pride in their Princess but there  would always be a few who would gossip and judge.  Fairies the size of humming birds and colors of the rainbow buzzed about trying to fix her thick disheveled hair and pull the many layered skirts back into order. One little thing got trapped in a tangle of her hair like a  bug caught in a web tugging and pulling until it had to transport to another place all together to free itself.  Mother sighed as she stood up from the family dining table.  Facing the massive hall full of hundreds of Tuatha De Danaan she spoke in her silky voice “I am somewhat pleased to present my oldest daughter, Princess Marron”.  The hall rose from their seats and bowed quickly.  I returned with a quick curtsy sneaking a look at father who was sitting stage center for all to witness  his dark brown eyes squinted in inspection, forehead wrinkled in criticism, mouth pierced in frustration.  Yet another face to add to the memory catalog.  Marron dismissed the well meaning fairies that tisked in  her ear with a swish of  hand.  Discreetly she found her seat on the dais beside her mother. Queen Vawse patted her hand with her long graceful fingers and gave that loving glowing smile that made all the children feel amazing.  Fresh fruit and cheese was placed in front of her and a sparkling wine was poured.  We didn't  have the right climate in our area for wine but the Golden Grain mound in the west loved our sugar cane so the goblets were always full of delicious varieties of wine from that region.  It wasn’t until I was on my second glass of the sweet crisp vino, that I relaxed enough to take in the beautiful sight of the hall decorated for Ostara.  Spring had arrived!  The ceiling was covered in green vines their large white flowers dangled. Twinkling lights had been weaved into the vines making  the cavern glow.  My mother had insisted on planting flowering trees when they had first arrived to this country and they had grown tall and strong emitting the most amazing smells.  They were hung with colored glass bottles that glowed from candles inside.  Lush green grass covered the entire hall floor.   Wild flowers just beginning to blossom were hugging the legs of the tables and blanketing the roots of the trees.  Marron had always loved the curved walls of colored marble with its swirls of pale blue, faded green and creamy yellow it had been polished to shine.  Mother believed nothing could be more beautiful than nature.  She used  magic given to her by the powerful Manannan before they had left Eire to keep the hall amazing.  Before Marron could compliment her mother she felt a tug in her chest like a fish just hooked her arms goose bumped and pulse quickened.   She followed the pull looking down the long maple dining tables and realized new faces were in the crowd.  She connected with blue eyes the color of  turquoise stone.  That contact felt like a cosmic gate clanging together and locking! It made her gasp.  The man gave her the quickest dimple grin before embarrassment took over and  he looked down finding  his melon to be fascinating.  Marron inhaled and looked down her own table to her promised, Cullen.  He was busy regaling  father with a story that involved large hand gestures.  He saw her and smiled with only the smallest pause in his story.

Wake up chapter 5

Wake Up He’s Gone
1890-1940's
Mellie woke up from a dreamless sleep jolted upright like someone had fired a gun in the night.  Her heart was knocking like a captive trying to escape its confines.  She lay silent and assessed the large one room cabin her family lived in.  Her sister  lay soundly next to her on the lumpy mattress they shared and she could hear her father snoring gently upstairs in the loft.   Nothing obvious had crept into the night to terrorize the world but Mellie was overcome with an ache.  Her soul, her love part of her heart was being squeezed and ravaged.  She felt so alone!  The feeling so intense it curled her body into a ball.  What was it, a family member sick, dead?  No it was him he had been stolen from her before they could even meet.  Only the heavens saw the vein that had connected the two severed with a blunt object leaving her end to spasm pain into the abyss.  She couldn’t stop the tears from pooling down her face onto her pillow.  She felt a little crazy, a little silly to hold thoughts that her true love had just died but she knew without a doubt she was alone without him in this life.  She wished the shining stars in the black sky would just be extinguished rather than watch her misery as she gasped and trembled for her loss.

Book Project-Untitled

I want to keep to a goal of three to five pages a week.  I would love any feedback.  Like I say in my profile this is not the next great American novel but it keeps coming around for me to write it so I will.  It also comes to me in sections that are not necessarily connected.  Will try to fill in the blanks soon enough.
